Alums for Campus Fairness (ACF) is outraged and appalled by the recent antisemitic incident at the University of Delaware, in which a fire at the Chabad Center for Jewish Life (Chabad at UD) has been ruled arson. ACF will not stand by as Jewish spaces at our alma mater are targeted.

According to a WDEL article and relevant authorities, “the fire in the 200 block of South College Avenue started around 11 p.m. on August 25, 2020. The building was heavily damaged in the blaze, causing approximately $75,000 in property damage. There were no reported injuries.”

ACF calls on the Administration and the Delaware State Fire Marshal to take necessary and appropriate action moving forward that ensures the safety of the campus Jewish community.

We ask that our supporters and supporters of the University of Delaware Jewish community join the student leaders of Chabad at UD and donate to their GoFundMe to help rebuild.
