One alumni voice. Countering Bigotry.

Alums for Campus Fairness (ACF) is a non-profit organization that brings together alumni to counter anti-Semitism that is affecting far too many university and college campuses, while also promoting an open and fair dialogue on campus regarding the Arab-Israeli conflict. ACF works in partnership with StandWithUs.

ACF mobilizes alumni to press their alma maters to provide: (i) a safe and welcoming environment for students and faculty who feel a connection to Israel; and (ii) a comprehensive education, rather than activist propaganda, especially with respect to Israel.

Althea Bernstein, who is both Black and Jewish, suffered a horrific attack last month while stopped at a traffic light after four men poured lighter fluid on her as they yelled a racial slur. They then threw a lighter at her, setting her face on fire. Thankfully, Althea survived the attack and is alive to tell her story.

“We ask for your continued prayers and positive thoughts not only for Althea’s healing, but for the healing of the collective wounds of our society whose history of ongoing racial inequity has come to the forefront in recent years,” Althea’s family members said.

A recent report by the World Zionist Organization - ההסתדרות הציונית העולמית found a 70% rise in antisemitic incitement on social media since the coronavirus outbreak. The BDS movement, white supremacists, and radical Islamists shared conspiracy theories about Jews and the virus.

An online campaign that started on Holocaust Memorial Day used the hashtag #COVID48, portraying Israel and Zionism as a “virus” affecting the Palestinians. Journalists in Turkey alleged that “the coronavirus is a Zionist plot spread by the Jews with the goal of reducing the global population.” Most recently, amid the riots and protests surrounding the horrific killing of George Floyd, a number of Jewish institutions, synagogues and businesses were targets of anti-Semitic attacks.

The BDS movement has hijacked the horrific killing of George Floyd to further its anti-Israel narrative by employing outrageous accusations that police violence in the U.S. is caused by violent Israeli police training programs.

Protests organized by BDS groups in the wake of the killing featured signs blaming Israel, and Palestinian flags. The recent “Day of Rage” protests across the U.S. called for “the defunding and dismantling of US police alongside the defunding and dismantling of Zionist colonialism and racist Israeli apartheid.”

These calls spread to campuses. Anti-Israel groups and students of the University of California system circulated a series of statements calling “on the UC to divest from companies that profit off of Israel’s illegal military occupation of Palestine, investments that uphold a system of anti-Black racism in the US.”

Anti-Israel “Day of Rage” protests took place last week in cities across the U.S. Protesters targeted multiple Jewish sites, including offices of the ADL - Anti-Defamation League, Hadassah and UC San Diego Hillel and Hillel at SDSU.

Footage from the protest in Brooklyn shows protesters chanting “Death to Israel,” “Death to America,” and “A million martyrs are marching to Jerusalem!” In Boston, protesters reportedly chanted Hamas slogans in front of the offices of the local ADL - Anti-Defamation League branch and the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston.
